Journals
The Canadian Art Teacher
A Journal of the CSEA/SCÉA , The Canadian Art Teacher is published twice yearly. The goal of the journal is to help art educators exchange:
- fresh, exciting teaching ideas
- cutting edge classroom oriented research in art education
- information and reflections on issues affecting our students and fellow educators
- reviews of current books, web sites and teaching resources
The Canadian Review of Art Education: Research and Issues is a refereed journal, published annually, that reports empirical, historical, and philosophical research with implications for art education and examines issues pertinent to the field. Manuscripts are welcomed which reflect diverse contexts, perspectives and methodologies.

Web Site
The CSEA/SCÉA web site contains information about the Society, its publications and activities. It features a NEWS section for announcements and items on current and upcoming events, initiatives and programs. It provides updates on conferences, information about new projects, and links to various art resources.
Special Publications
CSEA publishes books, pamphlets, and papers on topics of special interest to art educators.
Awards and Scholarships
The CSEA/SCÉA administers several awards for art educators who have been recognized for excellence and innovation.
Archives
Reprints of articles from past issues of Canadian Art Teacher (CAT) and Canadian Review of Art Education: Research and Issues (CRAE) are available for purchase on request.
National Assembly
Each year the CSEA/SCÉA holds a conference of art education professionals usually co-hosted with a provincial art education association. The purpose of the conference is professional development through the sharing of research, curriculum ideas, and advocacy initiatives through presentations, panels, workshops and other interactions. Tours, exhibits and cultural events are arranged for the education and enjoyment of the participants.
Art Materials
Close contact is kept with the major suppliers of art materials and resources so that members are kept abreast of recent developments and opportunities.
Professional Opportunities
Through national conferences, publications and the web site the Society provides an opportunity for educators with common interests to grow professionally.
