CSEA/SCÉA Graduate Student Symposium 2019

Dear Graduate Students:

The Canadian Society for Education through Art / Société canadienne d’éducation par l’art is pleased to announce that we are once again holding a special Graduate Student Symposium in 2019. This CSEA/SCÉA event will be happening in a special session within the InSEA World Conference: Making, to be held in Vancouver BC on July 9-13, 2019.

Graduate students are invited to present their Masters or Doctoral research at this symposium. Your presentation may address your research at any stage and may be work in progress, not necessarily completed yet. The Graduate Symposium presents a unique opportunity for graduate students to present their work in a variety of stages of completion and to receive feedback from other graduate students and faculty from across Canada, as well as from delegates attending the InSEA conference from around the world. Presenters will have the opportunity to have their work published in a special issue of Canadian Art Teacher journal, which will feature the research of graduate students working within the disciplines of visual arts.  As you know, the goal of the journal is to help art educators exchange fresh, exciting teaching ideas; engage with cutting edge research in art education; explore issues affecting our students and fellow educators.

This call invites you to submit a proposal for a 10-minute session for the 2019 CSEA/SCÉA Graduate Student Symposium. To submit, please note the submission requirements listed at the bottom.

Submission deadline for the Graduate Student Symposium is February 15, 2019, and applicants will be advised of their acceptance by February 20, 2019.  Please note that if you are already presenting a session at the InSEA conference, you may also submit to the Graduate Student Symposium; however, it may not be the same presentation.

All participants in the Graduate Student Symposium will need to be InSEA members, and registered for the InSEA conference.  Join or renew your InSEA membership at http://insea.org/insea/join-or-renew?reloaded=true. We encourage you to also become members of the CSEA/SCÉA, and benefit from connecting with professionals and peers across Canada. Join or renew your membership at https://csea-scea.ca/1394-2/. Register for the conference at https://www.insea2019.org. Early Bird Student discounts are available until March 15, 2019.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Gul Ali,
Graduate Student Representative
