In Memoriam Ted Harrison

Ted Harrison – Born Aug. 26, 1926, Wingate, UK –  Died Jan. 16, 2015, Victoria, BC, Canada

An artist, illustrator and author, Ted Harrison was an English-Canadian artist, known internationally for his paintings of the Yukon.

In 1987, Harrison was made a member of the Order of Canada for his contribution to Canadian culture.  During his lifetime, Harrison was presented with honorary doctorates from Athabasca University (1991), the University of Victoria (1986) and the University of Alberta (2005) and was made a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Art.  In 2011, Harrison donated his personal archive to the University of Victoria library.
